Challenges on the water, family fun ashore with the

Maldon Town Regatta – Saturday September 17 2011

Events on the Water:

1st Race Longer Course
West Mersea, there will be three starts.

  • 9.00am Large Smacks and Bawleys, Small Smacks and Bawleys, Gaff Rigged Yachts (OGA points)
  • 9.10am Modern Yachts, Classic Wooden Yachts, West Solents and East Coast One Designs (ECODS)
Shorter Course
  • 9.20am Gaff Rigged Cruising Yachts and other Cruising Yachts
  • 2.00pm Parade of Sail Race

On the Hythe

  • 12 noon Quayside Events start with stalls opening
  • 1.00pm Crabbing Competition
  • 2.00pm Rubber Duck Race
  • 3.00pm Parade of Sail
  • 4.00pm Deadline for Fishing Competition entries
  • 4.30pm Crew Party
  • 5.45pm Prize giving on the Hythe
  • 6.30pm Live Evening Music starts with the Doll Set Tones
  • 8.30pm The Cameron Band

All times are approximate.

There will be refreshments and music including Sea Shanties and other entertainment going on the Hythe throughout the afternoon.

St Mary's Church will be providing from 10am until 4pm refreshments including lunches in the Octagon. There will also be displays, children's activities, tower bell ringing and hand bell ringing, music and much more.

There is ample car parking adjacent to the Hythe in the Promenade Park. The Hythe has good Access for visitors who are disabled.
