Your guide to the district of Maldon and its history Maldon Victorian Evenings

This year's Maldon Victorian Evenings will be held on Thursdays the 3rd and 10th December 2009

Plans are well under way and as Chairman Rob Hawkins said,'We have had more than 100 traders interested in pitches this year. As well as the usual variety of food, drink and charity stalls on the High Street, we have secured the Town Hall for a craft fayre and have a traditional Punch and Judy show playing on the stage each night. The churches in Maldon are providing entertainment and we are having donkey rides around the Plume Library.

The Maldon Emporium will have managed to persuade Father Christmas to be present on each evening and Morris Dancers and street entertainers will be performing through the night. And of course Queen Victoria will be welcomed by the Mayor of Maldon.'

The High Street will be closed to traffic from 5.30pm and as usual there will be free buses from both Tesco and Morrison car parks.
